Despite the fact that the high today in central Florida was right at 90 degrees, and there’s nary an orange or yellow leaf to be seen anywhere, It’s October 1. As for as I’m concerned, that means it’s FALL, Y’all! So instead of my usual writing related Monday memes, I’m going with a few pictures more seasonal and plenty smile-worthy! Enjoy!
No one can convince me that the dog in the fifth picture isn’t laughing. Made me grin, too, so many thanks for that, Marcia. 🙂 ❤

I’m sure he is – my dog smiles and laughs all the time!

My dogs are too old to do much laughing these days, but they do smile now and then. (Of course, Potter has no teeth left, so it isn’t the PRETTIEST smile you ever saw, but still…it’s the doggie thought that counts.) 🙂

Hey, if we can have a picture of a dancing pug, we can have a laughing dog! Works for me! 🙂 And I’m glad these gave you a grin, Trish! That was my clever plan. 😉 ❤

Oh those are divine! If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the corgi as he looks so perfectly matched with the leaves. But thankfully I don’t have to choose – I can love them all! ❤

The corgi pic is just so dadblamed PRETTY, isn’t it? Those rich colors are perfection! I love them all, though. 😀 Glad you enjoyed them. ❤

I’m with Deborah, I immediately fell for the Corgi – but then I’m Welsh so that’s only natural. They’re all lovely though, and the leaves over here are turning gold, orange, yellow and red and beginning to carpet the ground, reminding me of one of my favourite songs ‘Forever Autumn’.

Someday it will be fall here, too, Lyn. Probably on a Wednesday in mid-November. 3 weeks later, it will be winter, and a week after that, summer. (Spring gets the short end of the stick in these parts.) But these pics did make me think of my favorite autumn tune, “September Song.” Only, you know . . . with dogs, instead of a lover. 😀

So glad it gave you a smile, Cynthia! These guys look very pleased with all the leaves, don’t they? (And there are actually about six more photos, just as cute, but I thought I’d save them for another day.) Keep smiling! 🙂

Thanks so much for reblogging, Sally. I’m glad it gave you a smile, even though we in central Florida haven’t seen anything that looks–or feels–like fall outside. The pictures are the closest we’re likely to come for a few more weeks, at least. 😦 I’m longing for frost on the ground and pumpkins piled on doorsteps. But, I’m trying to live in the moment, even if this moment requires shorts and the air conditioner running like crazy. 😀

Love the photos! We had 80 degrees yesterday. Like you said, nary an orange or yellow leaf to be seen. I’m actually ready for cooler weather and autumn colors. I bought pumpkins over the weekend and it didn’t even feel right. I have to worry about them rotting (from heat) before Halloween gets here!

Ninety here yesterday, Mae, and heading for 91 or so today. I’m not buying any real pumpkins. When I do, I keep them in the house, because throughout the entire fall and winter, it’s twodays cool/cold and 5 days warm/hot. Even in December and January, you can’t count on the cool weather hanging around more than a day or two, so real pumpkins definitely rot outside the door. 😦 I’m SO ready for temps to cool down! Hot weather makes me miserable at the best of times, and in the fall, it makes me sad, too. *sniff* This is when I wish I lived in the North Carolina mountains. A prettier place in fall you never did see! 😀
Glad you enjoyed the photos, though. At least I can imagine being there, kicking leaves around, and tossing a ball for the dogs. 😀

You can never go wrong with doggie pictures! Love them all. It´s still beach weather here in Spain so I can´t even think of fall yet.

Well, I’m right there with you. (Only NOT, since I’m in Florida! 😀 ) It’s headed toward 91 here today, and I’ve got the a/c going full-blast. Hot, hot, hot! But I’m using imagination! 😀 ❤

One of the few things I miss about living up north is the changing of the leaves. Thanks for the pics of the pretty leaves and cute pups!!

I miss the cold weather, too, Kass. Within reason, of course. No sense going to Fargo, North Dakota extremes. But in general, I far prefer cold weather to hot. I think we age better, too. It’s kind of like putting steak in the fridge, instead of leaving it out in the sun. 😀
Glad you enjoyed the pics, Kass! 🙂

Can’t say that I prefer the cold weather, although I am ready for it to cool down SOME down here. Ninety degrees in October does start to wear one down. 🙂

Or melt one down, as the case may be. 😀 I like the cold, but I’d settle for the COOL. Just a break in this brain-frying heat would be lovely. BUT. Everything is relative, and there are people in this world suffering far worse weather-related issues, so I’m trying to think of positive things. Like dogs, playing in the autumn leaves on a cool, crisp morning. *happy sigh*

They are so cute Marsh. No sign of fall you say? Well, it was 80 degrees here just a week ago, and I’m sitting here in my flannels, work a fall coat today and can see that in about a week I’ll be in a winter coat lol. !2 weeks and counting til Mexican winter for me! ❤

Ha. Ninety here yesterday, ninety-one today! It’s going in the wrong direction! 😦 I’m sitting here in shorts, and full a/c blasting. I’m LONGING for cooler weather, so I can at enjoy my garden again. I’m happy to see doggies frolic about in colorful leaves. My dogs hide in the shade under the patio table if they go outside after 8:30am. They can’t wait to get inside where it’s cool, too! 😀

Believe me, I wish I enjoyed it, since I’m pretty much stuck here for the time being. But my heart is in those North Carolina mountains, where at LEAST there is a lovely fall each year, and a few months of colder weather to enjoy. I am trapped inside six months of the year, here. 😦 I guess it’s a darn good thing that what I love to do most involves sitting at my writing desk. 😀 But autumn pictures, with or without dogs, make me long for at least a fall vacation! I swear, NEXT year, I’m going to make that happen. Frost on the pumpkins, ancient mountains rolling away into the mist, icy waterfalls, and lots of red and yellow leaves. Like this:
“The drive down from the ridge and into Darcy’s Corner took her breath away, with every tree along the road vying to be the brightest splash of color on the mountain. A hundred shades of red, russet, and burgundy rubbed leafy shoulders with orange, gold, and amber. The radio played Patsy Cline and Marty Robbins, and Ruthie sang along all the way to the farmer’s market.” – Wake-Robin Ridge Book 1

So adorable, Marcia. I love the tiny dog carrying the big leaf, and the grinning one in the leaf pile. Happy Fall!

Glad you enjoyed them, Diana! I love them, too, even if our 91 degree weather isn’t making me think fall at all. 😦 Still, I have my imagination, and that can take me anywhere I want to go. Like to the mountains, where it is turning cooler by the day, and where there will soon be frost on the pumpkings and fodder in the shock! 😀
