Today I’m pleased to feature author and blogger Marcia Meara, who is  a great supporter of Indie authors and has been kind enough to answer 20 of my questions:

Marcia Meara lives in central Florida, just north of Orlando, with her husband of over thirty years, four big cats, and two small dachshunds. When not writing or blogging, she spends her time gardening, and enjoying the surprising amount of wildlife that manages to make a home in her suburban yard. At the age of five, Marcia declared she wanted to be an author, and is ecstatic that at age 69, she finally began pursuing that dream.     • I wondered if anyone would pick up on that. It is tattered and torn, yet one of my most prized possessions. My father found it somewhere when I was about 12 years old, and knew it was my favorite book. It got packed away (by someone else) and lost for several years, and had suffered a lot of damage by the time I recovered it, but it is still dear to me. Her signature is as clear and perfect as it ever was, and I love it. *happy sigh* 😀

      • What a treasure and also a nice connection to your dad. I was pretty sure you had not actually met her, although she did live until 1989. I have a vintage Jane Austen, Mansfield Park, but not signed by her. A friend found it in an antique bookstore and knew how much I loved her so bought it for me. I think it is was published in 1890.

        • There is something special about old books, tattered or not, isn’t there? How lovely to have a vintage Jane Austen! That makes Daphne look like an upstart! 😀 I read on my Kindle for several reasons, not the least of which is I can adjust the font to a comfortable size, but I DO love my books. Shelves and shelves of them. They make me feel rich! 😉 And I like to pet the covers. 😀 😀 😀

        • I’m SO glad to hear that! (You did read Finding Hunter first, right? I only ask because there’s a wee bit of a spoiler in the first part of The Emissary. Not a big one, but it’s there.) Hope you enjoy TE! I never had so much fun writing a story before. And guess what? I just finished revising the last chapter of TE2 and sending it off to my editor. Epilogue next, and the sequel is done! Should be ready to publish within a week or so. Woohoo!! 😀 ❤

          • You go girl! And no, I didn’t read Hunter yet, gosh, I still have to finish the Wake Robin series! But I remembered you said it could be read as a standalone and I needed to read a shorter book to keep up pace to have a book for my Sunday book reviews (which yours will be up next Sunday as I should be finished by mid-week.) And as usual, this book didn’t disappoint. I love everything angels! ❤ 🙂

  4. We have a lot in common. I waited to self-publish till I was 63, and in addition to loving the natural world, I too would like to experience The Wonderful World of Harry Potter. Happy to hear you are doing so well with your appearances

    • Thanks, Donna! I love doing those presentations, especially about the St. Johns River and our wildlife. One of these days, maybe we’ll both get to the Wizarding World! I’m still hoping, though my spare time is non-existent, right now. Glad you enjoyed the interview. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.

    • Between you and Mary Smith, I’m going to have a great ol’ time when I finally get there! (She has a new book out, Secret Dumfries, and knows all the dirt on that interesting looking place!) I know the two of you will make sure I see everything a visitor to Scotland would ever want to see. And then some. 😀 I can’t wait! *goes off dreaming about lovely Highland cattle, and standing stones, and, yes! Men in kilts!!!* 😀
