I’m very happy to announce that I’ve been interviewed by Janice Spina, and the post appears on her blog today. Everything you ever wanted to know about me, and then some! Ha. Check it out, and please feel free to share. THANKS!!

Please welcome author Marcia Meara to Jemsbooks Blog Author Interview Segment.
Thank you, Marcia, for coming today.
Lovely to be here today, Janice! Thanks so much for having me.
I’ll step aside so you can begin, Marcia. I look forward to learning more about you.
Please tell us something about yourself.
I’m Marcia (pronounced Marsha) and I live in central Florida. I’m an ardent lover of wildlife and have spent decades birding and canoeing in the many creeks and streams of my home state, far preferring Florida’s quiet, shady swamps to its hot, sunny beaches.
I’m particularly fond of reptiles, especially snakes, and I enjoy sharing the things I’ve learned over the years. I do two or three Meet the Author slide presentations per month at various local venues, speaking as often about our fabulous wildlife and wetlands as I do about books and writing.

Thanks, Janice! I’d love to. My cardiology appointment got rained (STORMED!) out, so I was home, and just happened to check right after it went up. Great fun to be with you today, and I really appreciate your having me “over.” 🙂 ❤

BTW, I am responding to comments as I see them, but I’m still in the “moderation holding pattern.” My replies will be ready when you are able to approve them. 🙂 ❤

I’m still trying to crawl out from under the TREE that fell on us! Eeeeep. You’d be amazed at how much damage and debris a HUGE oak tree can cause when it pancakes your garage, your entire front yard, half of your backyard, and your whole roof. 😯 So much still to do just with that alone, much less writing, and trying to stay on top of the social media, and trying to squeeze in a couple of hours of READING every night. GAH!! Some days I feel pretty spry, and other days, I feel every single one of my 74 years! 😀 But I have faith in us! We WILL prevail, my friend!!

I truly understand how you feel. You have much to contend with. I pray that everything gets fixed and back to normal so like can get more settled for you. Hugs xx

Pay no mind to yesterday’s rant, Janice! I was having a pity party because I had to cancel a long overdue doctor’s appointment due to severe storms. (NOT driving in those!) It was one of those days where nothing was going right, EXCEPT for my guest spot on your wonderful blog! THANKS for brightening a gloomy day, and pay no attention to that woman whining about something that could have been so much worse than it was! Onward and upward, I say! 😉 And hugs back atcha! 😀 ❤

Thanks, Diana! I was just over there responding to your comment. 😀 I am definitely following my dream, and loving every minute of it. If I only had a few more hours a day for reading, life would be just about perfect. 😀 Thanks for stopping by today, and I’ll soon be reading your new release! 😀 Can’t wait!

I can relate to the desire for more reading time. I read on the treadmill now and that’s helping. 🙂

Treadmill? What is this treadmill thing you speak of? I’m lucky to jump up and do a quick 250 steps every hour when my Fitbit buzzes at me. My last treadmill made the greatest clothes hanger in the world. For years, I forgot it was under there! 😀

I got a fitbit and, oh, what a shock! I wasn’t walking 1000 steps a day! My goal is 5000 – thus the treadmill.

I usually hit between 5500 and 6500 (my goal) a day, just here in the house. (Way too hot to walk outside). I get my 250 steps spread out over 12 hours of the day (I upped it from 9, so if I missed any of the 9, I’d have some spare hours to catch up). But I usually do enough extra steps with carting laundry around and running the sweeper on my writing breaks, to make the 6500, without adding any extras. It’s right at 3 miles a day for me on days when I don’t go out anywhere. (Which is most days).
The Fitbit has made a HUGE difference in my health, I think. No more swollen ankles from sitting all day without breaks, for one thing. Of course, my husband who is in pretty good shape hits 10,000 steps a day. EVERY day. He’ll go out for a walk at 9:00pm if he’s hasn’t met his goal. (And he does 100 pushups every morning.) He’s 6 years younger than I am. I tell him just wait. He’ll see what a difference that makes when HE’S 74. *wicked grin*

Good for you, and good for him! Yes, it’s made a big difference for me too. Authors do a lot of sitting, don’t we? Ugh. 🙂

Yep, I was turning into a SLUG with no energy. Now, I can usually hit the 250 steps with two full turns around my house, in and out of each room, and it only takes me about 3 minutes. Then, while I’m up, I do a quick household chore, and before you know it, I end up with a pretty good score for the day. I don’t obsesses about it, but I do feel better for doing it, and it’s fun when everything on the dashboard turns green and animations pop up. 😀 I’m a simple soul. 😉
