If you are in the area this coming Saturday, 2/10/18, I will be at DeBary Hall, presenting the first of my series, “Central Florida’s Fabulous Wildlife,” featuring the area’s most famous–or infamous–animal, the American Alligator. The presentation starts at 1:00pm. I have lots of information and a ton of great slides to share with you.ย Join us for what I hope will be the first of many entertaining, interesting, and informative wildlife talks. And there will be plenty of time for Questions and Answers, too.
The event is FREE, no reservation required. All you have to do is show up prepared to enjoy yourself. ๐
Hope to see YOUR smiling face in the audience!
DeBary Hall, 198 Sunrise Blvd, DeBary, FL 32713, (386) 668-3840
Best wishes, Marcia!

Thanks, Staci! I can’t wait for this one. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!! That’s my clever plan, anyway! ๐

Sadly, I can’t make it ๐ฆ Maybe one day. I sure it will go wonderfully well.

I would dearly LOVE to see your face in the audience, Mary! We’d have a great time, and then we’d go for an eco-tour on the river! ๐ No huge, metal kelpies here, but definitely some things worth seeing! Yes, maybe one day! And I hope you’re right that it goes well! I’m polishing it up like mad today. ๐ โค

You guys should get a group together and have a grand tour of central Florida. I’ll be your guide! ๐ โค And you can attend one of my slideshows and an eco-tour aboard the Naiad during your visit, so you'll go home all informed about Florida wildlife. ๐ ๐ ๐

If only you weren’t so far away! We have snow here in Pembrokeshire and birds shivering on the doorstep queuing up for more supplies. Anyway, with your eye for detail, your understanding of what makes things ‘tick’ and your sense of humour I’m sure those who do attend are in for a treat.

Wait. I thought it was YOU who was so far away??? ๐
Aw, thanks, Trish, for such lovely compliments. I really enjoy sharing this kind of thing with folks, and I hope there’s a good turnout for this first one, because it’s crammed full of fun facts and great pictures (many taken by my friend & mentor, Doug Little of St. Johns River Eco Tours). And any time I can make folks laugh while passing along some of the things I’ve learned over the years, I’m a happy camper! This show will even include pictures of my inspiration for Big Blue (but you won’t know who–or what–he is, until you read Swamp Ghosts. ๐ )
Wish you could come! โค

I know who Big Blue is Marcia – I’ve just finished listening and reading (in conjunction) Swamp Ghosts. Loved it. My first introduction to your writing. Looking forward to more. Good luck with your lecture on Saturday.

Oh, I’m so glad you enjoyed Swamp Ghosts!! Thanks so much for letting me know, and I’m crossing my fingers you’ll spread the word (Amazon, maybe??). I had such fun writing that one that I had to keep going, though the drama is different in each of the next two books. (I mean, how many serial killers can you have in a town the size of Riverbend, before everyone decides to move away?? ๐ )
Thanks for your well-wishes for Saturday. I’ve been doing all sorts of presentations and Meet the Author events over the last four years, on wildlife and writing, and I just love it! It’s always exciting to have the chance to meet readers face to face, and chat about all sorts of things. This new series on our local wildlife, specifically, could turn out to be my favorite yet. We’ll see what the audience thinks.
So nice of you to take the time to comment! Hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the series. Finding Hunter might be my favorite. Poor Hunter struggles in a world where he marches to a completely different drum. Thanks again! โค

Thanks so much. I really enjoy getting out to meet readers and other wildlife lovers, sharing some of what I’ve learned about our local animals, birds, and habitats. It’s always an energizing experience! ๐
