#Christmas Ad Memes? What Do You Think?

Decided to experiment with some “Christmas Ads.” (Hey, all the stores are doing it, or hadn’t you noticed?) This is the first one I came up with, but I have ideas for more. And of course, I’ll add Buy Links to any Tweets or other Social Media.

Whaddya think? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Me, I dont’ think it could hurt, and I figured I’d share, in case it gave you any ideas for your own Christmas Ads. 😀

      Glad you are getting back to The Emissary. Just don’t compare it to anything but what it is, pure fantasy. 🙂

      And I’m also glad you took advantage of the $.99 sale. It was a good deal, for sure. BTW, I’m still speaking to you. I just have been so buried under email and repair stuff, and plumbing issues, and flooring issues, and now oral surgery/major pain issues, I’m so far behind, it isn’t funny. (Though I do think I responded to your last email. Can’t swear to it, of course. As I said, I’m ridiculously far behind. 😯 )

        I especially look forward to reading ‘A Boy Named Rabbit’ because one of my favorite deputies’ USMC nickname was ‘Rabbit.’ Tattooed on his arm.

          I know excuses like mine are a dime a dozen, but it was the best one I could come up with on short notice. When all else fails, I blame it on Irma. Or health. 😀 So far, so good. (Especially since it’s all been true, and I have not had to lie . . . so far.) 😀

          I hope you enjoy Rabbit’s story. He seems to be everyone’s favorite character, and the one I get the most email about. I doubt he’s a lot like your deputy/ex-marine corps friend, but he’s pretty special in his own way. And there’s nowhere near as much of that “sappy, mushy stuff” you hate in this one. Rabbit preempted my entire Romantic Suspense series, and he’s now the focal point, both in Harbinger (Book 3), and in the one I’m writing now.

          DO keep in mind, Wake-Robin Ridge was my first book, and I thought it was going to be my only one, so I threw everything in there but the kitchen sink. Oh, wait. I think that sink does show up at one or two points! 😀 But to counterbalance the love stories (TWO, in this one! Haha), there is a nasty piece of work sort of character, with pretty much no redeeming social value, some ghostly doings, and a few other surprises, here and there. Hope you’ll think it worth the read, overall.

    Haha, ‘giant’ because I’ve spent way more dollars on advertising than ever before, largely ‘cos I got a BookBub ad and man, those are expensive!

  5. Definite thumbs up! Would your buy link be to the paperback version? I’ve been thinking about this recently because it’s the paperback people would buy as a gift, isn’t it, rather than the eversion?
    I hope you’re starting to feel better after your traumatic dental work. And, I know, I still haven’t posted about the paperback version of Donkey Boy being available – getting to it soon.

    • Glad you like it, Mary. The Buy Link goes straight to the book page on Amazon, where all three versions are for sale. You click can select Kindle, Paperback, or Audio from the buttons at the top of all three pages, so that shouldn’t be a problem. (Though, of course, you can gift people with ebook downloads, too. Just not as much fun as wrapping a paperback and putting it under the tree. 😀 )

      I’m struggling with pain with this dental thing, and will probably ask them to take a look tomorrow. It doesn’t look infected, but it hurts like nobody’s business. Of course, I should have known when he gave me TWENTY heavy-duty pain pills that it would hurt for more than 2 or 3 days. 😯 Still, I’d feel better if they said it was healing fine. I’m not due for my recheck for another week, but if there are any complications developing, I’d like to know sooner rather than later.

      I just know I HAVE to be in good shape for the tea Saturday. I’m SO looking forward to it! And we have a full house, too! 🙂

      • Sorry you are still in so much pain. Years ago I had my wisdom teeth extracted and was in agony for several weeks. I couldn’t believe it. I’d been given strong painkillers and when they were finished I expected the pain to have gone. The dentist told me to see my doctor who prescribed more for me. I hope you are okay for Saturday – sounds a fantastic event. Maybe one day I’ll make it over your way!
        I should be in bed by now but I’ve just deleted (by mistake) an email which took me about half an hour to write – and it has gone. Have to start over. Technology!

        • I’m thinking it is improving some this morning, Mary, but I appreciate the sympathy. I’m ready for this to be gone! I had 3 wisdom teeth cut out many years ago, too, and it wasn’t nearly this painful. It was just a very hard tooth to get out, and my jaw is bruised from the physical effort of accomplishing it. I think about halfway through, the dentist MAY have been wishing he’d sent me to an oral surgeon and had it cut out under anesthesia, but it was a bit late to change the plan.

          Oh how I would love to see your smiling face across a tea table someday! Maybe it will happen! We can wish! In the meantime, I’m sorry about losing that email. I HATE when that happens! (:

      • Dentistry is not what it used to be, is it? They used to relieve your pain, but now they seem to cause most of it. I have just had an upgraded upper set of dentures made, but they are so uncomfortable, I swear they are second hand!
        I would definitely get them to check your treatment again…

        • I’ve been going to my dentist for over 20 years, and they treat me very well, and very carefully, since I have a major phobia, and have to have gas even for cleaning. This time, I think the problem is that the tooth just would not come out, and two long hours of hard labor over it ended with my entire jaw bruised. He thought he was going to be able to save it, and had drilled down to do a post and corer and new crown, but then discovered the floor of the tooth was gone, and that wasn’t an option. So at that point, he hadn’t much choice but to pull it, never dreaming it would be that hard of a job. So I honestly don’t blame him, though I have met my share of lousy dentists over the years, for sure. Hope your problem will resolve itself for you, somehow. Good luck! 🙂 ❤

    • Thanks, Judith. And of course, one could always add an “On Sale” line. I didn’t, because I want to be able to use it all season, sale or not, and I figured I could add any sale info directly above the image. But having it as part oft he add would work well, too. 🙂
