    • Haha, I love it. I’m not sure my husband actually KNOWS I’m writing books over here. 😯 I should probably keep it a secret so he doesn’t tell me to go get a “real” job. 😀 ❤

        • That’s kind of Mark’s interpretation of writing fiction. I think he even gets social media more. But he IS pretty good about letting me do it, and he does like my Amazon “paycheck.” 😀 Maybe he’ll get better. The other day, he asked if I wanted him to pass out my brochures to the folks at his office he thought would be interested, and he did ask if I had event flyers he could print and post on their bulletin boards. So that’s something.

To be fair, it isn’t just ME. He doesn’t care for fiction, period, preferring to read history. So I guess that means I’m in the same boat as Steinbeck, Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Hardy, Kipling, and Shakespeare, to name a few. Nice company! Hahahahahahaha.

    • I’m not a chocoholic, so that one doesn’t pull me in quite so much. But still, overall, it’s a pretty good list! The one that gets me is #3. I can’t even tell you how many people tell me they are going to write a book “one day,” as soon as they have time. So few non-writers realize the work involved. It’s like “when I don’t have to worry about an income, I, too, will be able to play around with fun stuff like writing.” OKay, I’ll give them that is can be fun. It can also be blood, sweat, and tears. And while I have never loved anything more, I’ve never worked harder in my life. How about you?

      • Absolutely agree Marsh. Writing takes over our life. You reminded me of this cute story I read in one of Norah Ephron’s books when a doctor approached her and said he’d like to write a book some day it sounds like fun. Norah said , (not exact quote but the point) “Yes, I know, I think when I get some time I’d like to try my hand at brain surgery” LOL I don’t think anyone can appreciate what goes into writing a book except another writer. And btw, I still love #9 – notebooks, pens and journals, just love them. I’m obsessed! 🙂 🙂 xx

        • I love it! Yes, I’d love to prosecute a murder case some day, too. Or give Olympic figure skating a go. It’s funny how many folks never think there’s any real skill or talent or study or HARD WORK involved in writing a book. I believe it was Nathanial Hawthorne who said, “Easy reading is damn hard writing.” Ain’t that just the truth?
