A Quick Update

Took a minute to update Facebook earlier, but figured you guys were due, as well. Thanks so much to those who’ve inquired about my health, and sent me their best wishes. MUCH appreciated.

My doctor’s visit yesterday revealed what I had expected. After feeling better on Friday, I got much worse over the weekend, but couldn’t be squeezed in to see her before yesterday morning, at which time she gave me the news. My cold turned into severe bronchitis, bordering on pneumonia. The good news is, I have Wonder Drugs on board now, and I’m assured I’ll feel much better very soon. I can already tell a difference. I’ve been cleared to do my Meet the Author Luncheon and Tea on Saturday, as long as I rest from now until then, and again afterward, and don’t overdo. (I will NOT be contagious by then, so if you are planning to come, you are safe, I promise. I double checked.)

I’m trying to respond to a few posts and emails here and there, but mostly, I’m resting as instructed, taking my meds, drinking Echinacea tea, and getting well as fast as I can!

You guys carry on as you are, and I’ll be back in full force as soon as possible. Smooches!

    • I’ve been sick ten days, though it felt like an ordinary cold for the first five. I want it GONE! Good luck with getting your voice back. I sound like Humphrey Bogart doing an impersonation of Scarlett O’Hara. 😯

      • Now THAT I would like to hear!!!
        Mine also felt like nothing for the first 5 days, i just had a croaky voice. Then it woke me up with the sensation of having hot knives thrust down my throat and an inability to stay upright for a couple of days. After that, it’s just been the annoying lack of voice.
        Strange bugs, very strange indeed. Get well soon.

        • It’s pretty grim, Debby.

          Mine didn’t exactly feel like nothing. It started immediately with a fire in the throat and had turned into a bad cold by the next day. But it just felt like an ordinary cold until that weekend, when it went off the charts bad. 😦 But I definitely feel improvement tonight, after only 24 hours on the medication, so I have high hopes I’m almost over it. Hope your throat clears up SOON. I will send healing energy to you, and you can send some to me, and maybe we can make this all go away. 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Jimbo! I’ll take ’em!! (And my meds along with ’em.) Between doing what I need to, and lots of healing thoughts and prayers heading my way, I’m sure to kick this soon!

    • I don’t rush for meds at the first twinge, but often times, things will run their course without too much trouble, and I don’t want to build up a resistance to these miracle drugs. But sometimes, you just have to use the Big Guns. And by golly, I’m feeling a difference. Not there yet, but definitely on the way. 🙂

    • It’s nearly 90 degrees out, and over 80 in. I’m staying warm, all right. Sweating, in fact. Urk. But I’m slowly coming out of this thing, and I’ve been cleared for my tea Saturday, after which I’ll be back to resting for a few more days. I WILL SURVIVE!!! I swear, on a stack of Finding Hunter paperbacks! 🙂

    • Thanks, Kate! I’ve been cleared to do my Meet the Author Tea today, for which I’m very grateful, with the provision that I come straight back home to rest afterward. So happy to be able to leave the house for a couple of hours. It’s been almost two weeks now, and I’m ready for a fun visit with readers and tea lovers. I’m on the mend! Yay!!! 🙂

    • Thanks, Sarah! The good news is, I’m not any worse. The bad news is, I don’t seem to be any better, either. I’ve finished the antibiotics and have only 3 more prednisone tablets to take. Hope they are going to make a BIG difference. SOON!! I need to get back to formatting That Darkest Place. I could have sold at least a dozen of them yesterday, I think. 😦 Oh, well. Slow but steady. I’ll get there. 🙂
