Hi everyone— Has anyone ever done a Goodreads Giveaway? It’s an easy way for people to discover your novel. And who knows, some might even be intrigued enough to buy it if they don’t win. Right now, from today through March 8th, I’m doing a Goodreads Giveaway for my book, Pairs at Nationals. Anyone can enter to win one of five copies (an author chooses how many). All you have to do is go to http://www.goodreads.com and put Pairs at Nationals in the Search box. Then scroll down and click on Enter Giveaway. That’s it! Goodreads chooses the winners at random, and I’ll send each of them an autographed copy of the book. There’s nothing to lose! Many thanks from me, Elizabeth Weiss Vollstadt, for checking it out—and happy reading (when you’re not writing) !
Hi, Liz! I have to admit, I’ve never tried this, and it’s great to hear it’s so easy. I hope we’ll hear from others who done them, too, so we can learn from each other. I’m making 2017 my year to become better at marketing, so I’m exploring lots of avenues, and I’ll be VERY interested to see how it turns out for you. (If you notice an uptick in sales afterward, for instance). Hope it goes VERY well, and that you have fun with it, too. May you find lots of new readers! Thanks for sharing today. (I’ve passed your post along.) 🙂

Thanks, and thanks for the chance to post. I will definitely let you know if it helps with sales. The other plus is that people who win are asked to post a review—although only 60% of them do, according to Goodreads. I’m into marketing this year, too, trying to use Twitter more, for example. It just takes up so much time when I’d rather be writing!

OH, believe me. I know exactly how you feel. I don’t have decades to do this stuff, and time spent marketing is time I’m not writing. I guess that’s why I hate doing it so much, though it isn’t really such terrible work. But still, I’d love to hire a Virtual Assistant to handle it for me. Maybe this is the year I can do that, too.
Good luck, LIz! Got my fingers crossed for you. 🙂

My publisher has done Goodreads Giveaways for my last two books and it is a great way to get them noticed, Pairs at Nationals sounds enchanting, and I signed up for the giveaway. Wishing you much success with it, Elizabeth! 🙂

Definitely going to give it a try. I’m taking some time off after I get That Darkest Place up, and this is going on my list of marketing things to try. Thanks for the input, Mae. I’m entering Liz’s giveaway, too. 🙂

Thanks. I’ll be offering the Kindle book at a discount once the Giveaway is over for people who might want to read the book anyway. I’ll announce it later.

Don’t worry. I haven’t been able to brain for a long, long time, now. Oh. Maybe you SHOULD worry. It has to start somewhere. 😀 😀 😀
