Call it the age of Netflix.
It’s spoiled us for the wait – no longer do we have to hang on an aching seven days to find out what comes next on our favorite TV show. With shows produced by Netflix, we can now binge watch the entire season over a weekend. (And yes, I’m guilty of this – Longmire! Stranger Things!).

Interesting idea. I’m curious to see how it will work. Good luck with it! Two questions: are you happy with misterio press? And is it worth contacting them? I’m a Greek writer, have written a mystery set on a yacht in the Greek islands and am in the process of writing the second in the series…(in English, of course)

Thanks so much for sharing this with us today, Kass. It’s very interesting, and I’m curious to see how many of our followers have tried this, or are thinking about doing so. I write such long books, I don’t think the wait would be a good idea for me, but I can definitely see it working in many cases.

I’m not sure I’d have the patience to wait either, Marcia. Kirsten is a fast writer and these books are not super long (around 55,000 words I think). They are super fun stories though. I’ve never enjoyed editing quite so much!

I can definitely see how this concept might work very well for her, then. My books are always over 100,000, and usually between 125,000 and 130,000. Long even for my genre, but it takes what it takes to tell the tale, so I don’t worry about it. However, my current WIP is taking me much longer to write, even though it looks like it might be a shorter book, than ever before. Lots of interruptions, etc. So waiting for 3 to be done might eat up the last of my writing years. 😯 I think unless I start doing novellas, I’ll have to just enjoy seeing what kind of success others have with the concept. It’s certainly a neat idea, for those who can utilize it. Thanks, again, for sharing today. 🙂

Hmm. An interesting concept for certain. I do love when I stumble onto a series after it’s been out for a while and I can binge read without having to wait for the next release. As a reader I love the idea. As an author, I’m not sure, but I’d definitely be interested in hearing how it all plays out down the road.

I feel exactly the same, Mae. I love reading an entire series back to back. But I don’t think I can write one that way. Most especially since I’m juggling two series at once. Hope to hear from someone who has tried this already, and if they feel it worked out well for them.
